Description

An MCP (Manual Call Point) is a critical fire alarm device used to manually activate a fire alarm system in case of an emergency. It allows building occupants to immediately raise an alarm when they detect smoke, fire, or any hazardous situation, even before automatic detectors respond. Typically installed on walls near exits, staircases, and escape routes, the MCP ensures quick and easy access during emergencies.

The device operates through a simple mechanism—either by breaking a glass element or pressing a resettable button—which sends a signal directly to the fire alarm control panel. Once activated, the system triggers audible and visual alarms across the premises, enabling rapid evacuation and emergency response.

Manual Call Points are available in both conventional and addressable types. In conventional systems, activation indicates the zone, whereas in addressable systems, the exact location of the triggered MCP is displayed on the panel for precise identification.

Designed as per international fire safety standards such as EN54 and IS codes, MCPs are built using durable, fire-retardant materials to ensure long-term reliability. Their simple design, ease of installation, and vital role in emergency situations make them an indispensable component of any fire detection and alarm system.
